About Me

Anna Hopkins

Leave your admin burdens with me and focus on your business success.

Thank you for coming here to find out more about me. I have 30 years’ experience as a PA/EA that I would love to share with you.

After graduating with a BA Hons (Class 2:1) in English Literature from University of Wales Trinity St David at Lampeter, I returned to my parents’ home in the Cotswolds and spent a year training in business admin (NVQ Level III). In many ways this was a return to Plan A – I had wanted to be a secretary since I met my Dad’s PA when I was six! A love of books had taken me into my degree, and I loved every minute of my time at University, but becoming an administrator made me feel for the first time in my life I was truly good at something practical and useful.

I started out in basic admin, and within three years had my first role supporting a Director and his team; after four years there I moved to support my first Chief Executive. I have worked in a wide variety of sectors, departments and sizes of organisations, including a bulk-powder handling equipment manufacturer, the HR team of a major insurance provider, a major housing developer, an international IT solutions provider, a faith-based charity, a social housing and care home provider, an independent schools foundation and local government. My specialism, though, is governance and I am also a Trustee and Company Director of a faith-based international charity with special responsibility for governance.

I am efficient and creative in my approach to work, with strongly empathetic interpersonal skills, and I am always seeking to learn more. My philosophy is to use my skills, experience and the best of myself to make a positive contribution to the success of any organisations with which I work and to alleviate the workload pressures on the people with whom I work. I will bring enthusiasm and talent to your admin needs.

As for my values, I am committed to integrity and openness in my dealings with all people, whilst acting with discretion and fiercely guarding the confidentiality of any sensitive information entrusted to me. My aim is never simply to get the job done, it is to get the job done well.

Having spent my childhood in the Netherlands, teens in the Cotswolds, university years in rural Wales, and my adulthood in the Midlands, I now live in Devon with my husband. I still read a lot, and also love movies, the arts, history, walking – especially by the sea – and spending time with friends.

You will find more information about me on my blog. A list of the sectors I have worked in is at the bottom of the Services Offered page.
